Rumu

Rumu is an intimate, narrative-driven adventure that follows the path into sentience of a robot vacuum cleaner.
Rumu was a dream come true, and an opportunity I was so fortunate to have. I pitched the concept for “Rumu” to the Executive team while working as a Producer at Hammerfall Publishing. I worked with a small team of developers to ship the game in under a year from the start of pre-production to launch day.
I was the Gamerunner on the project, a role encompassing many facets of the development process for an indie team. In addition to production, I worked closely with all aspects of the narrative and art direction for the game, created the brand identity (including the logo, promotional artwork, website, marketing copy and even concepted, shot and edited the launch trailers!) and was hands on in-engine with crafting the experience.
Rumu won an Australian Writer’s Guild Award for Daniel McMahon’s incredible script, an Australian Game Developer Award, was exhibited at the Australian Center for the Moving Image and was critically acclaimed upon launch.
